| Survey Technologies for Pipe and Cable Installation with Horizontal Directional Drilling |

| Abstract:Survey technologies are very important to a safe and successful laying pipelines with horizontal directional drilling. This paper is involved with knowledge about location of existing utilities and exploration for soil layers before construction, tracking and navigation for the drill head during drilling, and survey of pipelines in pre- and post- installation stages. Work principles, basic performances and application ranges of survey instruments are also described. |
